Seamus O'Byrne

Seamus O’ Byrne was born in Dublin in 1957. He is primarily self-taught, studied in National College of Art and Design part-time, life drawing in Trinity Centre, Lincoln Place, and lithography in the Graphic Studios, Dublin.

He was secretary of “Figurative Image” group of artists for a number of years. Presently he is a committee member of Dunlavin Festival of Arts and a member of Visual Artists Ireland.

He is a full time painter working mainly in oils and acrylics. His work is principally figurative with a keen interest in the “dynamics” of nature and the landscape. He lives in West Wicklow where his love of the outdoors and wild places has been hugely inspirational in the development of his work.
